Disappointment hovers: Sanju Samson is excluded from India's ODI

Sanju Samson, Indian cricketer who is known for his role as a wicketkeeper-batsman, is excluded from India’s ODI World Cup squad. And this information has startled and has kept the fans in utter disappointment. Samson has proven his versatility as a batsman and has shown glimpses of his brilliance in the Indian team but he has failed to get consistent games in international cricket. The team management’s decision to rule out Samson brought about a cloud of displeasure.
Sources tell us that Samson made his ODI debut in 2021 and since then he has played only 13 ODI games out of 45 India played, his ODI average reads above 55.71 in the 12 ODI innings he batted for India. Irfan Pathan, former Indian all-rounder took to social media to express his dismay on Samson’s exclusion and stated that “If I am in place of Sanju Samson right now, I will be really disappointed.”
Reports also tell us that the decision made means that Sanju Samson is with the Indian team in Sri Lanka, will miss out on the World Cup opportunity. Chairman of Selectors, Ajit Agarkar emphasized Rahul’s role as the primary wicketkeeper hence Rahul fits the criteria for a middle-order batsman and wicketkeeper .
