Asian Games 2023 esports: India's outcome

India had sent a two member team for the FC Online esports event at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China. All of the esports events were held at the China Hangzhou Esports Centre. Charonjot Singh and Karman Singh Tikka were the Indian representatives in Hangzhou for FC online, previously known as FIFA Online 4. The FC Online competitions at the Asian Games 2023 were slated to occur from September 24 to 27. However, India’s participation concluded on the first day of the event.

Charanjot Singh advanced to round 4 of the losers’ bracket, while Karman Singh’s campaign came to an end in round 2 of the same bracket.

This 20 year old gamer secured an advantageous draw by emerging as the winner in the South Asia seeding event for the Asian Games 2023, held in Seoul, the Republic of Korea. In the same gaming realm, hailing from Delhi, Karman Singh also 20 years old achieved a notable second place in the inaugural ISL championships and claimed victory in the community Cup just last year.
In the FC tournament, the competition employs a double elimination format, allowing a player to remain in contention until they experience two losses, with the exception of the grand final and qualifying stage. The 16 losing teams from the Round of 32 start off the
loser’s bracket and the 16 winners from the Round of 32 enter the winner’s bracket.

The losing team from the loser’s bracket final will grab the bronze medal while the winter will go on to meet the winner of the winner’s bracket in the grand final.
